This has been a great addition to my Girl's toy chest. As previous reviewers mentioned, the launching and firing are quite loud, and it doesn't fire/ launch the ball far. The popular ball launching sticks will, and do, send the ball a lot further. Which, while I think we have a bigger garden than most now, usually meant into our neighbours' back gardens. Despite my best intentions. The other down side to the blaster is the launching mechanism can be easily clogged up, and stop working with fine debris, like sand, so I wouldn't recommend this for a beach type environment. The ball that it comes with didn't last long with my soft-mouthed-chewer Girl (she only chews soft toys, which last a long time; ropes and so forth are way too hard for her liking). But all her other Chuck-it balls (medium 6.5 cm) work perfectly. The blaster can fire from two settings, one shorter (great for indoors for us), and the longer firing. I think the trigger and pull back loading mechanisms are easy enough for young or arthritic hands to use. K was scared of the launcher at first, but she has learned to absolutely love it, and she gets really excited when we bring it out now. I love it because I can pick up the ball without getting slobbery hands, can fire it with precision (I can decide exactly where I want it to land ), and I can use it in my back garden and avoid the neighbours' gardens. All in all, I'm really delighted with this blaster (which may or may not remind me of Crash Bandicoot 3). Side notes: I don't think smaller balls will work in this, but I am not sure. While I don't think the blaster will have trouble launching the ball, you probably will have to load it by hand (I'm thinking: pull the loader back, drop the ball in). Tennis balls, as in used for the game, aren't good for dogs and wear down their teeth. Which is why dog's balls have a softer coating.

Our dog loves to play fetch and this has made it even more fun. It's an easy way for the kids to be able to launch the ball for her (she's so quick and they don't throw it far by themselves). Our dog gets so excited when this toy is brought out and hubby will flick the trigger to make the sound which makes her crazy with excitement. I love the fact you don't have to pick up that slobbery ball too!

My dogs didn't like the ball launcher as the sound it makes when you launch the ball is a little loud/startling. Would be best used in a large yard or open field. I wouldn't recommend it for a dog that is easily frightened by sharp sounds.

No, I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend

Almost a good product

It really doesn't fire the ball very far (A ball throwing stick/wand throws a ball maybe 7-8x as far). And the ball provided is not at all durable (was split within 5 minutes). Normal tennis balls are a lot more durable. Other than that, it's a fine product, but those two are big drawbacks, and it's not cheap. .

No, I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend
