The instructions are basic. Cutting out the door hole is the easy part. Screwing the 2 pieces together is a nightmare. Trying to get the screws to line up to the opposite hole is nearly impossible. The screws themselves are made of cheap junk alloy, so you can't retract them back out with a magnet if you miss the opposite hole. And they are too long, so they protrude straight through the other side, it took me a couple of screws before I realised this & shortened them with some bolt cutters. Some quality screws with pointed instead of blunt ends & proper instructions re this would have made all the difference. Apart from this headache the door looks ok & hopefully functions alright; but not a good start.

Bottom Line

No, I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend

My Swedish Vallhund barrels through the dog door pretty hard and within a year this broke the flap. The flap has very small hinge pins and is a hollow moulded piece. The door is also very loud when it's swinging closed. I did not buy the flap from Pet.co.nz but it was this exact brand. It would be fine for gentle dogs.

No, I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend
