For pregnant or nursing females, we recommend free choice feeding. The Daily Feeding Guidelines are a good starting point on the amount of food suggested to be fed on a daily basis. If you feed more than once per day, simply divide the Daily Feeding Guidelines by the number of times fed per day. Always provide plenty of fresh water.

When changing to CANIDAE® Grain Free PURE Foundations™, some dogs may do better by making a gradual transition over 7–10 days. Start with 25% of the new food mixed with 75% of the previous diet and gradually increase the new while decreasing the previous until the transition is complete. CANIDAE® Grain Free PURE Foundations™ Formula is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for growth and gestation/lactation.

  • Unfortuately I am unable to find that information on the Canidae website. They do however have an article on the importance of the Calcium:Phosphorus ratio https://www.canidae.com/blog/2009/07/excess-calcium-isnt-good-for-dogs/

Our young golden retriever had been having real problems with Kibble. He seemed to have diarrhea more often than not. We had tried several varieties with no luck (even with slow introduction). Then we tried Canidae and almost instantly his issues cleared. Being a retriever he loves the taste (to be fair he would literally eat anything) and we feel much better knowing he is now properly getting the nutrition he may have been missing out on when his digestion system was out of whack. It has a very good rating on dogfoodadvisor and is reasonably priced.

Decided to give this brand a try, we've been using ACANA for awhile but after switching to this I've noticed my dog's poo has gone more sloppy and smell worse... I will continue to use and see if anything improves.. Yes, I've been transitioning the food

Comments

I have a spoodle so can’t comment if this food works for larger dogs however I am over the moon with the quality and price and value of this product. A little too early to see the nutritional value or change with my pup but I know that it will be good! Another thing I noticed is that it doesn’t smell as awful as the other stuff I had.
