Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen
The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen's long outer coat is wiry to the touch and comes in any combination of lemon, orange, black, sable, tri-colour or grizzle markings. This breed has shaggy eyebrows, beard and moustache.
This breed is very cheerful, smart and comical. It loves to explore, dig and escape. By nature it is a pack dog and will be happy with other dogs, however it's not recommended that it be left alone with non-canine animals.
The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is a generally healthy breed.
It needs to be taken on a daily walk. It will become restless and destructive without enough exercise.
The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen's coat should be thick and wiry. Brushing once a week will remove loose and dead hair and control shedding.
This breed will do okay in an apartment if it receives enough mental and physical stimulation.
Sometimes puppies of different sizes are born in one litter, because the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen was crossbred with the larger Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen until 1975.
